SPECIALIZED MEDICAL CARE PROGRAM
This program is for Retired MWDs and offered through a partnership between United States War Dogs Association and NVA Compassion-First Veterinary Hospitals.
WHO IT'S FOR
This program aims to eliminate some of the financial burden put upon individuals and families who have adopted a Retired MWD in need of specialized care.
ELIGIBILITY
The important first step is verify your canine’s eligibility for the Program.
This program is for you if:
- Your Retired Military Working Dog served time in the Operational Forces and been assigned to a permanent duty station.
- Your dog has already been seen by your local veterinarian and received a diagnosis off further treatment.
HOW TO JOIN
Follow these simple steps to join the program:
- Complete the program application and send it to us, along with a copy of your retired MWD’s adoption paperwork, including a copy of the notarized covenant not to sue.
- Send your documents to us via post or email, using the details below.
- Once we receive your documents and application, you will be entered into our database. Then,
- United States War Dogs Association will authorize Specialized treatment at at one of NVA Compassion-First Veterinary Hospitals
- NVA Compassion-First will then contact you to set up an appointment.
- You will be required to share your dog’s medical records and the diagnostic tests completed by your local veterinarian.
