Man’s best friend is playing a heroic part in helping Britain’s injured service people.

As well as aiding the blind, these super dogs are providing invaluable support for those who have lost the use of their limbs.

The animals have been trained to have a human touch so they can push buttons, pass and fetch items and carry out a range of vital household tasks.

Labrador Kizzie has been a godsend for former Royal Navy Petty Officer STEVE BROOKES since he became paralysed.

She opens doors, calls lifts, gets clothes out of the washing machine and even hands over the cash for Steve’s drink at his local coffee shop.
