Opening Ceremony

Canines with Courage and Loyalty Event

Well our event has come and gone and I must say it was a great success.

The day started off with the honoring of colors, by the Jr. ROTC Color Guard from the Burlington City High School.

Next we had the honor of having William Henry Harris from Riverton, New Jersey sing our National Anthem.

In attendance from the Burlington City American Legion which was instrumental making this event possible were Joe Campor (Post Commander), John Filippine (Adjutant) and Carl Wooden (Chaplin).

Ron Aiello (I) spoke about the History of Military Canines and how they on numerous occasions saved American lives.

William Henry Harris then sang, “God Bless America

And we all sang along with him.

The Colors were then retired by the Jr. ROTC from Burlington City High School Color Guard.

Carl Wooden then closed the opening ceremony with a Prayer.

11:00AM

TSgt Jason Otto, Kennel Master, McGuire AFB and his K-9 teams

Presented us with a fantastic Military Working Dog demonstration.

12:00PM

John Burnam, Author of: “Dog Tags of Courage”  gave us a short glimpse of him and his K-9, Clipper from Vietnam with a short video and then a presentation.
