     Chuck Rotenberry began his Marine Corps career in December 1999. Since assigned to his first duty station at MCLB Albany, GA, Chuck’s K9 career flourished. He has handled Patrol/Explosive Detection Canines throughout dozens of stateside and overseas missions directly supporting VIPs such as POTUS, VPOTUS, Sec Def, DoS, etc. In addition to his Military Police K9 duties Chuck served as Special Reaction Team (SRT) member, SRT Team Leader and SRT Marksman Observer. Shortly after being awarded Police Officer of the Year for the state of Georgia Chuck became a member of the 341 St Training Squadron aboard Lackland Air Force Base San Antonio, TX, Dog Training Section (DTS). Chuck supported the DoD Military Working Dog Mission with canine procurement, canine training, DTS Team Chief and as Chief Instructor for the Specialized Search Dog Handler Course.

     

  Throughout his career and as a subject matter expert Chuck has developed canine course curriculum, working dog policy and procedures. During his Marine Corps and Military Working Dog career Chuck has been part of every facet of the canine program; from handling and training to multiple combat deployments where he was part of leading the third largest Military Working Dog deployment since Vietnam. Assigned as the II MEF, Camp Lejeune Chief Trainer Chuck deployed with and trained some of the finest MWD handlers and MWD teams.

       

  After serving 14 years of honorable service Gunnery Sergeant Rotenberry separated from the Corps. His entire time in the service was dedicated to the Military Working Dog Program and he now continues to serve the working dog community with the United States War Dog Association, Inc.
